The Courtyard

The main open area outside the school. It has several small grass areas, a well, benches and several sets of steps surrounding the base of the school building.

The day is November 3, 2016. It's nice and sunny with a slight chill in the air. Things have been calm the past few days since the incident with Flora nearly dying due to Bloom being trick by Selina.

Marching out into the crisp fall air, Griselda stands stiffly on the steps, glaring at the other students with clipboard in hand. "Put that hose down Clarice!" The woman orders the young blonde fairy with pigtails. She had just caught the girl trying to spray her fellow classmate Katy.

Clarice grumbles under her breath and drops the hose and with a pout, marches over to the side of the school to sit on the steps, trying to come up with something now to do.

Vivian entered the courtyard, seemingly alone. With her she had a rather large chest which rested in a small trolly. Pushing the chest and trolly down the path leading to Alfea's entrance and admiring Alfea's beauty she smiled broadly. Her outfit wasn't one adept for the cold Alfea fall, compared to Pyro's relatively warm autumn. Before going on she decided to take a moment to take it all in, unwittingly ignoring Griselda completely.

Taking notice of a new young woman entering the campus, Griselda briskly walks over to her. She flips a few pages on her board, stopping at a sheet of names. "Excuse me." The woman announces loudly for the girl to hear her as she approaches, "If you are a new students here, I would like your name."

Vivian looked up to the woman with a risen eyebrow. Given the clipboard and the demeanor she must be in charge of the place or something. "The name is Vivian," she replied in a minimalist fashion with only a tenth of her attention given to the woman. "And what's yours?"

"I am Ms. Griselda, assistant headmistress and head of discipline here at Alfea." She answers, looking down the list with a frown, since there were at least two Vivians on her list. "I require your last name as well." She really wished some people would be more forth coming with information during this process.

"That's a long name," Vivian said and chuckled. "My name is Vivian Faera, from the town of Veravodhín on Pyros," she said and now seemed to be slightly more intent on miss Griselda. "What do you do around here? Miss head of dicipline?"

"Yes, here you are. You will be in Dorm Alpha while you are here at Alfea." Griselda mutters, placing a check next to the name. She redirects her attention back to Ms. Faera, looking over the rims of her glasses, "My role here at Alfea is to make sure students are checked in, they behave themselves at all times and to instruct them when in my class. Any other questions, Ms. Faera?"

"Alright," Vivian said and she sighed deeply. "We'll see one another soon!" she said and smiled a little awkwardly. Knowing herself, she and that woman were going to be acquainted soon enough.

She pushed the trolly with her chest on it to the stairs where she encountered her first problem. The trolly did not fare well with steps. "hey the hell am I supposed to get this up here," she muttered as she pushed the thing some harder as if that'd solve the entire problem.

"Yes, I will see you in class. As for the current issue, you either pick it up, have a suitcase with wheels on it next time or use a simple hovering spell." The woman answers the student in a sharp tone. Griselda returns to her clipboard, looking at other names of people who might show up soon. She wondered how many of these people would decided to waste her time by never showing up and going to other schools.

"I here to learn stuff like that misses, if I knew how to do that I'd be elsewhere. Got any helpful things on that clipboard or do you just carry that around for fun?" she asked in a snarky tone upon giving highly unhelpful advice. "Oh this woman is just like my math teacher back home. I still dream of her eating fireballs for every day of the week." she thought briefly, only fueling the frustration.

"Do not sass me Ms. Faera." Griselda scolds her sternly, waggling her pen at her, "Just because you do not like my advice when it comes to a simple spell that a good portion of students know by now, does not give you the right to snap at me." The woman slightly pushes her glasses up, "Now do you want me to ask another student for you to help you? I'm sure one is more than willing to help you."

Vivian seemed to relax a little. "Why didn't you say that from the start," she said exasperated and huffed. "Yes, I'd like some help, what part of that wasn't clear?" she asked more briskly again.

At this point, a wind rider slowly zooms into the courtyard and lands near the well. Roll slowly dismounts and removes his helmet, placing it on the handlebars, while shaking his head to rid himself of helmet hair. He pulls his backpack off and quickly takes out a book, while taking a seat by the well.

"You failed to ask for help in a polite manner or any manner at all." The woman answers, feeling her frustration grow with this new student. Eyeing the Specialist who had just arrived, the woman points to him, "Ask. Mr. Everton to help you. I'm sure being a representative of Red Fountain, he'd be more than willing to help you your luggage."

"What kind of school are you guys running here? I have to ask some random guy for help?" she replied indignantly, but completely out of any other options she relented and pretty much stormed off towards the guy with an unworded curse towards Griselda.

Approaching the guy she didn't seem the least bit shy. "hey there," she said trying to get his attention before he'd dive into that book of his. "Could you perhaps help me get my chest up?"

"Or you could have asked, a random student to help you as well." Griselda says to her, watching her walk off to get Roll's help. The woman didn't feel that bad about sending her over to the young man at all.

Roll hadn't even cracked open his new book before the student had made their way over and requested help, "Hello." He answers, rather tentatively, looking up at the young fairy, "I guess I can. There doesn't seem to be anyone else offering you hand." He remarks in a somewhat dry snarky voice. He slowly stands up, placing the book on the edge of the well.

Vivian made an exasperated gesture half towards miss Griselda. "All that one gave me was attitude for not knowing how to levitate stuff," she replied with the exact same kind of snark. "I mean, I just got here, I don't know anything except how not to kill myself or others with my magic... And even that just barely."

Roll glances towards Griselda with a grimace, but turns back to Vivian, "Maybe she thinks that some students should know that basic spell. She's expecting a bit too much for everyone to know how to use that and to know how to handle their magic with ease. Well, where is your trunk, I'll do my best to bring it up to your dorm." He wasn't too pleased with being shoved into this little task, but he'd just suck it up and not complain.

Vivian pointed to the chest standing on a trolly. "There. and I think if we both grab an end we can hoist this thing up in no time," she said optimistically. "Good thing to know not everyone has a stick up where no sun ever shines,"

"It will still take a bit of time with the two of us." Roll answers a bit negatively, walking over to one side and grabbing one of the handles, "I'm sure you'll encounter one or two more of those types here at Alfea." He is set to hoist whenever Vivian is ready.

Vivian counter down from three to announce when to hoist and upon reaching the final number the small girl seemed to be plenty strong as she managed to hoist her end with relative ease. "The name is Vivian by the way," she said in a voice only slightly strained by the exercise. "What's yours?"
