The witches got their sirenix form stealing the power from Daphne with Tritannus' help.

Well it says she can open portals as she wishes on the wiki and in the movie, she can't even open the portals since they were shut down by Tritannus. I don't think the portals have anything to do with giving one the power, thought that is an interesting theory.

I know that the witches got sirenix from Daphne, but they got a more direct injection of sirenix rather than going through a portal and getting sirenix. Sirenix power is still sirenix power, but I think it needs to come in slowly rather than being suddenly given it.

I'm still in the camp that says the portal doesn't give you sirenix, Sirenix allows the portals to be used. If I recall, the winx changed into sirneix in ep 13 or so of season 5 then used a portal into the ocean. Honestly, there is an argument for both in some ways.

No, the Winx opened the source, out popped a portal, then out of the portal came Omnia. She said, "I'm Omnia, and you're Sirenix fairies." They all cheered, but they were still Harmonix fairies. THEN, they went into the portal, and if you remember in the transformation segments, you always go through this weird spinny circle tunnel before zooming to Bloom. Then, they had Sirenix, and then they ported into the Infinite Ocean. So the only possible ways was that they got Sirenix in the portal or in the infinite ocean.

I'd have to rewatch that episode in this case. But I honestly think they get the form before meeting omnia and going in, but hey I could be wrong on this.

I watched the episode two days ago, and you have to look at the episode before SIRENIX too, I think.
