Lake Telfer

"Finally here." Noko projects to her fellows students as she arrives near a small pavilion building that over look the lake.

"Looks like we weren't the only ones wanting to see the lake today," Miave said as she arrived after Noko. The first thing she scanned was the beach itself, before looking out onto the water and other surroundings. "We can probably still find a good spo-" Her words stopped abruptly. "Woah! What's that!" she said, looking at the crystal in awe. "Can we go touch it?!"

"That's Telfer Sol crystal." Noko looks out to the crystal and the beach area before it, glancing around for a good spot. "Of course, anyone is allowed to touch it. Many wayfairers on the Clarity Trail do so."

"Is it naturally occurring, did someone put it there? Does it do anything?" Miave prattled off questions as she staked out the nearest spot that wasn't on top of someone else and started taking off her shoes and socks, her eyes not leaving the crystal.

"From what I know, it is a naturally occurring crystal." To her knowledge from school, that crystal had always been there, but it wasn't unique either. At the last the last question, she taps her finger on her mouth to think, "Well, some say it gives clarity of mind, but other say it produces a calming effect. There is a fairy tale that it was once a weapon made by a king of old."

"I could use some clarity and calm," Miave said, finally tearing her eyes off the crystal to look back at Zaflore. "Hey, Zaf, you said you had some swimsuits?"

Zaflore completely ignored the crystal, instead she took her bag and headed to the nearest changing stall, to emerge moments later in a white bikini sporting yellow stars. She might have been slightly plump but in no way overly so. After finding a clear spot Zaf would put down a blanked that offered plenty room for at least one to join, two would be pushing it.

A person walked over to Zaf. "Hey, I have this blanket, do you want it? I usually just leave it here until my next visit, so as long as you leave it here, I don't mind you borrowing it for your stay." A person a bit away urged the kind citizen to hurry up. "My girlfriend's calling me, so make up your mind..."

Zaf looked at her friends admiring a rather nice looking crystal abd then shrugged. "Sure, but aren't you afraid it might get stolen if you just leave it laying here, or someone might mistake it for rubbish?" Zaf wondered, finding the stranger's kindness both pleasant as strage at the same time. "Maybe this was how things worked on this realm? wouldn't that be awesome," Zaf thought as she lust laid down spread eagle, letting the suns' rays beat on her, basking in their glory.

Smiling to see her friend at ease, Noko takes off her shoes and socks and walks swiftly onto the sandy beach, enjoying the feel of the sand between her toes. She closes her eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath to take in the air of the lake.

It seemed that Zaflore had made off for the changing tents before Miave had noticed. "Hey, Zaf, did you say you have spare suits?" she asked, now that she was sure the fairy was nearby. She was getting antsy, though - she was about to just head for the crystal anyway and dry off later.

"Oh yea, I do!" Zaf stated enthusiastically and dug into her bag, exposing she had several different sets of clothes with her that would be useful in several different circumstances. She pulled out a blue one piece swimsuit with yellow smiling sunny faces on them. "I hope it fits you," she said as she reached vaguely towards Miave with the hand that was holding the suit.

"Looks close enough, thanks!" Miave replied, accepting the suit and scurrying off to the changing rooms herself. In what seemed an improbably short amount of time, she emerged, heading directly for the water. "I'll be back!" she announced before splashing towards the crystal.

This last thing only added to Zaflore's confusion, but at the same time she felt utterly unconcerned. "Sure, I'll take it," she chimed, giving the guy a warm smile of gratitude.

"You wouldn't happen to have another swim suit in there would you Zaf?" Noko questions, feeling like going swimming now. The place had really energized her want to do so.

Zaf cringed slightly and shook her head. "Sorry, I only brought one spare," she said apologetically. "Isn't there some place to get those nearby?" Zaf wondered aloud, already thinking of a solution.

"Well, I could just go home and get mine or head to the store that is in town for a new one." Noko answers, looking worried that something might happen if she left. "Would you two be alright if I went to get mine?"

"I think so," Zaf said and then looked at Noko questioningly. "Hey, is it commonplace for people to leave objects around for others to use in places like this?" she asked inquisitively.

"It's rather uncommon for people to do so, but not unheard of." Noko answers with a slight shrug. She hadn't had such an experience since she lived here, but several of her friends had. "I'll be back in like half an hour or so with the swim suit. Enjoy the lake you two." Feeling like nothing would go wrong, Noko pulls her sock and shoes back on and takes off for town.

Zaflore nodded and was left curious. She regarded the blanket given by the stranger and decided to see if something was up with the thing. "Maybe it was magical?" she thought, and with that she cast het light spell and moved the orb over it as if scanning it.

Note for narrator: Zaflore taps additional power from starlight, due to Solaria's binary star nature the spell is slightly more intens.

It wasn't long before Miave was at the base of the crystal, slapping a hand on it triumphantly and waiting to see if she felt anything. While she was at it, she scrutinized the structure, trying to see if it looked like something that could be climbed. Was she allowed to do that? Not that it mattered, she was gonna do it anyway if it seemed possible, but the question did flit through her mind for a brief moment.
