A person with a megaphone stands up from the nearby sign up table that Stella was just at, "Sign up for our contest is now closed. We have our contestants set, so first up we have. Tolina Mcgruder." The crowd that is close by claps with almost no spirit and the person who takes the mic to sing is the woman from the store that the girls had just been in.

"Ooooh, it's starting!!!" Xanthe exclaimed, "Lets see what's going to happen."

Snow shifts her attention to the concert and her eyes widen at whom was singing. "It's that rude lady from the store, I really hoped we saw the last of her."

"Of all people it had to be her." Stella fumes, angry to see that this witch of a woman was the one going to be filling the air with music.

The woman known as Tolina smirks, feeling confident in her ability to sing. "I'm like singing the best song ever in the world. Toxic." Some in the crowd groan as the music and the woman begins to sing, her notes going off key in many verses.

"She's worse in her pitch, but she is confident, i give you that much" Xanthe replied, wincing.

It seemed like they didn't have to work very hard to get a good view of the contest. Pushing her empty plate away, Sonya leaned back in her chair and watched as the first contestant took the stage. She'd honestly forgotten about the girl entirely until Snow and Stella groaned, reminding her of their earlier encounter. She still didn't really care, the girl hadn't left that much of an impression on her, though her terrible singing was somewhat annoying. At least she seemed to having fun up there? It would be over soon, at least.

The song ends and the woman pulls out her phone as the MC speaks, "Well that was Tolina everyone." The crowd hardly claps and the woman doesn't even look up, "I'll take my prize, I know no one else signed up." She stretches out her free hand expecting it to be placed there. The MC blinks and looks at the sign up sheet, "We actually have one more contestant." The woman scoffs and barely looks up, "As if, just say the name so we can get this over with." The looks at the crowd and smiles, "Well, our other contestant goes by the name of Xanthe. Please welcome her to the stage please."

Xanthe blinked, shocked. She got up and walked to the stage.
Stella, you are so evil. i get you back for this she thought.

"Hope she's not too mad at me for signing her up for this." Stella whispers so only Sonya and Snow could hear.

"There she is." The MC calls as they spot Xanthe approaching, "So you can sing anything you want and style doesn't matter. Just go out there and have fun."

Xanthe nodded.
"Thanks i guess" she said, and took a deep breath. Scanning her brain, she chose one of the earth songs that she knew well. Ray of Light.
Well, here's goes nothing she thought and took a breath. She took a mic and began to sing.

"If she is, she sure isn't showing it with her singing." Snow remarks, tapping her foot in line with the rythem.

Sonya openly smirked at Xanthe's surprise. How deliciously underhanded - maybe she had more in common with Stella than she'd thought. And of course, Xanthe's performance was already a lot better than the first girl's, so Sonya didn't have to force herself to tune it out.

Stella listens to the song, finding Xanthe's voice to rather nice. It was certainly leagues ahead of the brat from the store.

Xanthe finishes the song and slowly backs away from the mic. She looked at the crowd to see if they liked it.

The crowd looks at each other for a moment after the song ends and several break out into rounds of clapping. They enjoyed her singing for the moment part. The MC blinks at his list now which had ended, "Well uh, that's was the last person folks, but it's pretty clear by your applauding that we know who the winner is." The MC takes the tickets from the table and walks over to Xanthe, "This is your prize miss."

Stella applauds softly, glad to see her friend win this contest.

"Not really a contest on who won." Snow gives a soft clapping knowing how good a singer her dorm mate was.

Xanthe took the tickets, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"Thanks i guess" she said.

The MC chuckles a bit, "You're welcome. Enjoy whatever movie you go see." The MC turns back to the crowd, "Well that ends...." The MC is interrupted by the rude woman from the store, "I can't believe this, I lost because all you stupid are too blind to see I'm...." Two young teens annoyed by the woman, stand up, "SHUT UP YOU SORE LOSER." The woman eeps and shrinks back, more angry than anything. "Don't think you'll win next time little miss buttinski." The woman mutters at Xanthe, but not loud enough to be heard. She slinks off back to her store.

Sonya clapped with the rest of the crowd, glad that Xanthe was getting a good response. Not that she'd had any real doubts - she was a professional singer, after all. Still, she'd seemed pretty nervous, so the cheers were a welcome reaction. Sonya barely even noticed when the bitter employee from earlier tried to make a scene, she was more focused on her friend.

Xanthe walked off the stage and headed towards the group.
"That was something" she said.

"It sure was." Snow answers, hoping that they had seen the last of the woman.

Stella grins cheerily at her, "Congratulation! You did a great job up there." She wondered deep down just how angry Xanthe would be at her.
