Rosebush island

Kiko ducked behind a post of the house framing and covered his ears in anticipation of a boom.

There are people everywhere in the village. Most still with the guided tours, feeling safer to travel in a pack rather than alone. Within the village there wouldn't be any opportunity to do this without witnesses.

"Kiko, stay there. I'll be back in two shakes of the tail of a fluffy animal." Roll quickly moves towards the edge of the village and makes sure he could hopefully magic up the rope.

It seems that in the outskirts of the village there are fewer people and on the sand dunes none at all. It seems Roll's previous reprimand of the guides stuck.

Roll would definitely manage to conjure up a rope, more effortlessly than he ever has. Somehow his magic felt stable, he was in control. Maybe even feeling a little silly for his previous doubts.

Roll just looks at the rope in surprise, feeling unsure if it was a fluke or he was getting better. Regardless, he hefts the rope over his shoulder and makes his way back to Kiko and the well.

Roll's sword vibrates softly for several seconds after the spell has been cast.

The bunny is happy with Roll's speedy return, thoughit's short lived when in his mind the newly added rope and the well connected to one another as Roll approached it. Kiko pulls at Roll's trunks to keep him from going.

While he hadn't noticed his sword vibrate, but the bunny's tugging on his pants didn't go unnoticed. Placing the rope upon the round, Roll bends to one knee to look at him, "What's the matter? Are you trying to tell me not go down there?"

Kiko nodded and then faux shivered to indicate it was him who was afraid of what might be down there, but also him not wanting to be the one being left behind on the surface.

There are a couple of people who give Roll a strange look when he's tying up his rope.

Roll nods, seeming to understand fully, "Kiko, I know you might be scared, but I'll be there to protect you. I'll promise you'll be safe with me." He gives the bunny a soft pat on the heads, "I never intended to leave you up here at all either." The boy smiles at the rabbit to reassure it.

The bunny hopped in Roll's pocket and despite people finding Roll's action strange, no one would stop him from spelunking.

Deciding to tie the rope with an extra knot on one of the sword's hilts and hefts the rope into the well. He gives one last check to make sure it was secure.

Roll checks everything and finds that the rope is of excellent quality, easily on par with professional climbing ropes used back on Earth. It is also tightly secured, making it look safe to put his body weight on.

"Well, here we go." Roll mutters as he grips the rope and slowly begins the nine hundred foot climb down.

The first few feet of the well looked exactly like the dull dark grey stone Roll could see on the surface, but then suddenly, not even twenty meters in Roll could see a line where the rock discolored. Most likely the former water line. Then around fifty meters deep the rock seemed to change. Its surface becoming sleeker, much like the talons and it showed patterns of twisting. It also started to get a little narrower.

Roll would take note of the changes in the strata and upon reaching the next talon like layer and looks at the twisting pattern for clues, but he also gulps at the narrowing. He hoped he could get down further and slows his pace as he continues his climb downward, just praying he can squeeze through.

The narrowing process was a slow one. It took a while before it got cramped, Roll estimates that would be around halfway down. The twisting pattern became more pronounced. If Roll has to make a guess, this almost looks like the vortex created by water draining, only solidified here.

Roll finally comes to stop, unable to go further. He looks at the twisting wall, seeing the patterns carved more pronounced. "It's as if water drilled its way out of here, I wonder if its the result of what happened." He mutters to himself and decides to climb back up, not willing to send Kiko down further by himself. It just wouldn't be right.

When Roll comes up someone in worker's uniform is waiting for Roll. He gestures at the rope and looks puzzled. "You know, technically you didn't break any rules," the man said upon Roll's emerging from the well. "Here in Kamehuva we don't like surprises," he added.

Roll climbs out fully, before glancing at the worker, "Next time, I'll make sure to submit something to prevent you all from freaking out." The boy begins to untie the rope and coil it up. "Is there anything else I can help you with sir?" These people and their bureaucratic nonsense annoyed Roll slightly, finding it such a contrast to what he heard of the planet in the past.

The man shook his head. "Nah, it's okay. Just tell them I reprimanded you if any official asks something," he said and walked away. Some others stood besides the well clearly wondering why Roll went down.

"Uh ok." Roll answers, blinking in confusion at the worker. The young man would continue to coil up the rope, making sure to untie it as well. He payed no mind to the people who were wondering why he was down there.

People quickly enough lost interest as nothing exciting what so ever happened and went on with tour groups or the occasional loner or those travelling in smaller groups.

Without any kind of warning Kiko appeared from Roll's sleeve, seeming delighted that the whole thing was over... Wait a minute, how did it even get there? Kiko tugged the sleeve for attention and rubbed his stomach which growled in reply while mimicking eating a carrot.
