Rosebush island

"What is it Kiko?" Roll asks with a tilt of his head. He knew Kiko had his methods of getting attention of people, so now wasn't any different.

Kiko pointed towards the ghosthunters who were now most definitely following Roll for whatever reason. The bunny seemed uneasy about the duo. The cameraman was also altering between the ghosthunters and Roll, not bothering to hide it.

Roll follows Kiko pointing to the trio and frowns at them. He looks back at the bunny, seeing the body language it was using, "Probably best if we try and ditch them." The young man looks around for points that could be used to lose those annoying ghost hunters. If there wasn't, he'd head back to the beach to come up with a plan.

Everything around the paved path is loose sand and would significantly slow anyone down. Roll does however notice that those ghost hunters are carrying a lot of gear and he isn't. In this heat that might just do the trick to get away by outlasting them in these circumstances.

"Kiko, hold tight. we're going to leave those ghost guys in the dusty sands." Roll gives them one last glare with a sideways glance and bolts off the path and across the sand. Due to the RF training, along with his own running capability, he should theoretically be able to out run those equipment laden hunters.

Kiko grabbed a firm hold of Roll and prayed a short prayer to the carrot god in heaven, or whichever god bunnies pray to.

For a short while they actually tried to chase, Roll could vaguely hear them calling out for him, but they quickly had to relent as the heat took no prisoners, especially not when geared up like they were.

Roll keeps going for several meters before slowing his pace and looking back. He looks to see if they were indeed gone and sets his course in the direction of the village upon seeing they weren't. The water packet that he had opened before, he hands to Kiko, to make sure the little guy was keeping hydrated.

Appreciative Kiko grabbed the sac of water and took some gulps. He proceeded to actually poor water over himself to cool down a little, depleting the supply.

The initially led back to the crossroads near the beach before once again the well maintained path snaked through the monotonous land. Again a lot of concession stand selling overpriced water, and exasperated groups being led by guides. Why were they taking people into the sand dunes?

Upon seeing the guides leading people into the sandy dunes, Roll marches over. He knows exactly what these people are doing and it isn't something he'll stand for. "HEY!" He shouts in a very angry tone, as he walks closer to the tour guide, "What's the big idea on taking these people into the arid sandy areas? Are you trying to force them to buy the over priced water of your pals to stay cool instead of taking them down the well kept path you people have made? Where do you or your bosses get off on that!?" A small flame of anger flashes in his eyes.

Indignantly one of the tourguides replies: "Mind your own business lad, have you seen how much those paths coil? We're giving them a shortcut,"

however the man might technically cut some distance, traveling the path is so much easier compared to moving through loose sand where you sink away to your ankles with each an every step.

"Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't realize that a easy smooth traveling path with little hazards was worse than a near desert that is harder to travel through and will force people to buy water from your pals." Roll answers in his snarkiest of tones. "You're exploiting these people with your tours and putting their lives in danger!"

Some people in the group now cast less than subtle sideway glances to the tourguide defending himself. The guide himself seemed to become slightly anxious. "Some of the best things can be found off trail," the man said.

A random dude with a beer gut immediately responded: "if that means endless sand, he's right!" which got some laughter and hoots from the others. The guide looked even worse now.

Roll smirks at the man's remark, but keeps his gaze on the tour guide, "There is no best thing off trail, just worthless sand. These people's eyes are open now and they won't be taken in by your little game! Take them down the path, they'll enjoy it more and might see something."

The same guy immediately shouted that he wanted his money back, which many immediately followed. the tour guide himself looked as if he wanted to be anywhere right now but here. A family with a little girl no older than six approached Roll to personally thank him. The little girl looked flushed and exhausted from the ordeal the guides had put her through.

Roll smiles at the couple and said he was doing what was right. Upon seeing the girl, he reaches into his bag, pulling out one of the last three water pouches he has and gives it to her. "Here, take this."

After letting the flushed girl drink she looked a little better. The parents gave back the water sack without drinking themselves to keep Roll's water from depleting. "Are you going to the village?" the little girl asked.

Roll sealed the sack up again and gives a nod to the little girl, "I was indeed heading that way. If you are all headed there, I'll come along with you."

Kiko jumped from Roll's shoulder onto the little girl's head, who in turn gleefully laughed upon the bunny's action.

The village was the strangest thing Roll has ever seen. There weren't any buildings, merely the skeletons of buildings, all made of the same monochrome material as the soil. The place felt like an echo what it once was. The air felt tense and it was oddly wind still.

Kiko and the little girl clutched tightly to one another upon arriving in the ominous village.

The tense atmosphere sent a shiver down Roll's spine, but at least he wasn't the only one that felt the creepy atmosphere, he could see Kiko and the little girl clutching to each other. The place had the same treatment as everywhere here and it still reminded him of how he first saw Domino, but on a small scale. He wondered if there were any signs littered about here. Regardless of that, he slowly makes his way over to a building and gently places his hand against the husky wall of it.

The dark grey framework felt like strong and sturdy wood. it looks like it's frozen in time, there is something static and certain about the presence, yet at the same time it doesn't belong here the way it is.

Roll raises an eyebrow at the feeling of it. No wood this old unless preserved should feel this way right? His knowledge of magic was...rather lacking, but was there something powerful enough to actually stall such a process? "How can a wood wall so old and exposed to the elements still be in such good condition after all this time?" He inquires aloud, but knows he'd have to talk with magic expert when he returned to Magix about.

Roll looks at Kiko and the little gir as he decides on his next course of action, "Take good care of her little guy for a moment. You can tell Bloom all about how brave you were in this place." With that said, he begins to circle the house looking for some way in to continue exploring.
